The esoteric meaning of the Ten Commandments

Whew, I couldn’t imagine five more commandments! Thank goodness he dropped that extra tablet, or we could be in an even bigger mess than we are now!

There are several ways to interpret the Bible, some of which are listed below:

  1. Historical and/or literal – If you’ve read any of my articles, you know how I feel about that one. The contradictions are too numerous to mention here.
  2. Philosophical – That one isn’t high on my list. Because, philosophically, if you confess Jesus as your Lord and savior and that he was raised from the dead, then you will be saved. That is exactly the problem today with Christianity.
  3. Astrotheology – That one is quite interesting and pertains to the sun moving through the signs of the zodiac, but doesn’t really apply to what we will be discussing today. If you want more information on that topic, see my article here.
  4. Spiritual – Now we are getting somewhere, especially since the Bible tells you to do just that.

2 Corinthians 3:6 King James Version

6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

1 Corinthians 2:14 King James Version

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

A consensus of scholars, historians and archeologists now agree that Moses never existed, is a myth; and that the Israelites were never in Egypt, never were held in slavery, never crossed the Red Sea, or wandered the desert for forty years. There is absolutely no historical evidence that the story of Exodus actually took place. The Egyptians have no record, zero, of it ever happening, and they documented everything in great detail and kept meticulous records.

I’ll cover Exodus in greater detail in another article in the near future and what it means within you, the levels of your consciousness. But for now, a little back story is needed before we can understand the Ten Commandments the way they were intended to be understood, which is mystically or spiritually.

Let’s first look at one of Moses’ interactions with God where we find out what God’s name is.

Exodus 3:14 King James Version

14 And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.

We know this is mysticism, symbology, allegory and mythology and, by extension, that it has a profound hidden spiritual message meant for you and only you. But you have to have “eyes to see” and “ears to hear”; circumcised eyes and ears; the ability to discern these texts spiritually. You have to be inside of the mystery.

We see that God’s name is “I AM”, right? So if I ask you what God’s name is, you would say “I AM”. That’s right, this is trying to convey to you that you are divine, that you are a God. Not “The God”, but divine. Don’t scoff, the Bible even tells you that in the following passage:

Psalm 82:6 King James Version
6 I have said, Ye are gods

Who and what are you? Have you ever stopped in the chaos of your life to consider how you came to be here, now, at this moment in time and pondered the miracle of life?

Just stare at yourself in the mirror, look into your eyes and tell me that you don’t see the universe staring back at you. Look at the wonder of the human body. Every breath is a miracle. Being alive is a miracle. You are a miracle. You are divine. And yes, you are a God. I choose to believe that we are spiritual beings made of pure energy, surrounded by pure energy, that are experiencing this physical life because we chose to limit ourselves to learn, to gain further experience for the greater good of The One, The All, The One Universal Consciousness that we all are a part of.
Alrighty, let’s get into it!

Exodus 20 King James Version

Commandment #1

My apologies in advance, for this first commandment needs to be laid out in detail for it to make sense. It’s long but well worth it. This whole article is long but well worth the time, in my opinion.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Think about that statement like you said it.

To understand it, you need to understand what and who God is. So, what did we find out about God’s name above? “I AM”, right? So you cannot have any god before yourself, no other gods before ME, because if God is anything and everything perceptible and imperceptible, then you are a part of that, too. Never think of yourself as being separate from the divine, for you are one and the same.

In the Bhavagad Gita is says: “I AM the same to all beings. I favor none and I have none. but those who worship ME, they live in ME, and I in them. Even the most sinful, if he worships ME with his whole heart, SHE will be considered righteousness, HE shall obtain spirituality and eternal peace and go on. For even the children of sinful parents and those called the weaker sex and merchants, if only they will make ME their refuge, they shall attain to the highest. What need to mention the holy ministers? Do therefore born in this changing and miserable wear. Do worship ME. Fix your mind on ME, devote yourself to ME, sacrifice for ME, surrender to ME, make ME the object of your aspiration and you shall assuredly become ME, one with ME, who is your own self.

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” – It makes more sense now, doesn’t it? Drop the religion, drop the doctrine and worship yourself, for you are divine.

In the Egyptian Book of the Dead, Chapter CX, it says the following: “I AM is my rest in His seasons, even he who when He manifests His plan, the Company of the Gods becomes His first-born children.

Children are “thoughts”. In other words, when you come to the point of realizing your divinity, the I AM within you, your thoughts (children) become divine (in the company of the Gods). You manifest your inner, God-like nature.

Even Jesus has something to say about it.
John 10:34 King James Version
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

Look, I didn’t say it, Jesus did. Why can’t we believe it? Because we are conditioned to think that we are separate from whatever God is.

People are praying to Jesus even though He said that He couldn’t do anything:

John 5:30 King James Version
30 I can of mine own self do nothing

I can’t do anything, but the Father (Higher Mind) within me can do everything. Meaning that the Higher Mind within you is what can have dominion if you allow it and nothing will be withheld from you.

John 5:31 King James Version
31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

In other words, if I tell you that I’m God, don’t believe it. If I tell you that I am something special, don’t believe it. If I tell you that I am the best thing since sliced bread, don’t believe it. Man, that is a hard, jagged pill to swallow, especially if you come from a fundamentalist background.

John 8-28 King James Version
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

It doesn’t matter if you are a man or a woman, you are the “Son of man”. And when you lift yourself up, raise the level of your consciousness, you will come to know that “I AM” is God, within yourself, and also understand why Jesus is saying “I do nothing of myself”. Because now you know that “I AM” is God, and that He (Jesus) is not.

Luke 12-14 King James Version
14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?

Who made me the one to solve your problems? He’s not trying to be tough on the guy, he is just saying: “Man, it’s in you.” “The things I can do, you can do better.” “Look within yourself.”

John 8-19 King James Version
19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know ME nor my Father: if ye had known ME, ye should have known my Father also.

When you know ME/Yourself (the Christ within), you know the Father or God, which is your own self.

John 10-30 King James Version
30 I and my Father are one.

You and the Divine Mind or God are one.

Exodus 20-5 King James Version
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them
Because that takes the attention away from yourself. Bow down to yourself.

Very briefly, I want to show how the biblical translators took liberties when translating from Greek to English, just to show you how slight nuances can change the meaning.

John 16-23 King James Version
23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

Okay, now take a look at the original Greek and how it translates.

“καὶ ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐμὲ οὐκ ἐρωτήσετε οὐδέν ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ὅσα ἄν αἰτήσητε τὸν πατέρα ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου δώσει ὑμῖν”

“And in that day, of Me not you will ask nothing. Truly, Truly I say to you, whatever you may ask, the Father He will give you in the name of Me.”

Not “in my name” but “in the name of Me.” Once again it’s referring to you (ME). The Greek writers were coming from the perspective of a “God-Man” literally walking the Earth. They didn’t understand that all of these writings are talking about themselves, and with that in mind, we now see how these words have been mistranslated to mean a literal, physical Jesus when they should be referring to the Christ within you. Big difference.

Remember how the Bhagavad Gita was speaking of you?

Buddhism never mentions God at all but it does talk of you becoming the Buddha, the enlightened one.

At the beginning of this article, the Bible tells us not to be a minister of the letter. So we are not to ask Jesus for anything, but ask yourself. Everything is within you. We just have to make the leap of believing it.

In the mystical symbology of the East, the word ‘name’ means ‘way’. So what is Jesus saying? If you ask in my way, the Father will give it to you. The way is within, which is thoughtless meditation.

  1. “Seek first the kingdom of God”
  2. “The kingdom of God is within you”
  3. “If thine eye be single, your body will be filled with light”
  4. “Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit to his stature?”

Verily, verily I tell you, that is what is really being said here.

The god you put before yourself is religion.
Commandment #2

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

This one speaks to idol worship on the surface, but we can definitely go deeper. Materialism is one aspect of idol worship. The worship of a person and the satisfaction you get from the approval of that person. People can worship their problems, wallowing in anger and dissatisfaction. These are all examples of bowing down to graven images.
Commandment #3

7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain;

People believe that this means not to say “Goddammit”. It has nothing at all to do with that. The word “God” is a play on the word “good”. The word “Devil” is a play on the word “evil”. Good and evil; God and Devil.

What is God’s name? “I AM”, right? So never ever put yourself down or think that you are somehow less deserving than anybody else. The “I AM” within you is stronger than you give it credit.

People are going to church because they believe that they need saving and that they are separate and small compared to God. In doing so, they are violating this commandment

The word “vain” means, among other things, “no value”. Never think of yourself as unworthy, because “you are the light of the world“.

The church and going to it on Sunday are just traditions that have been handed down for centuries, but Jesus warned people about traditions. He also hated religion.

Matthew 15-3 King James Version
3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
Commandment #4

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

The word “Sabbath”, metaphysically, means “seven”, which is symbolic of spiritual completion and the seventh chakra (crown), enlightenment, etc. What I am proposing to you is that the Sabbath is a state of mind, not a day of the week to not do any work.

The Sabbath is a very certain, definite thing. It is a state of mind that man enters or acquires when he goes into the silence of his own soul, into the realm of Spirit. There he finds true rest and peace. The seventh day means the seventh or perfect stage of one’s spiritual unfoldment. Man had become so lost in the darkness of sense consciousness that he could not save himself, so a Savior came. When man lays hold of the indwelling Christ, the Savior, he is raised out of the Adam consciousness into the Christ consciousness. He then enters the seventh stage of his unfoldment, where he finds rest and peace. The Sabbath can be enjoyed at any hour. Man shows his ignorance and limits his happiness by confining the Sabbath to any one of the days of the week. He should learn to read the Bible in the spirit, and pay less attention to the letter of it.

It would seem that if God ordained a certain day for rest, and rested on that day Himself, He ought certainly to have left some evidence of it in His creations; but He has not, that anybody knows of. The fact is that Divine Mind rests in a perpetual Sabbath and that which seems work is not work at all. When man becomes so at one with the Father-Mind as to feel it consciously he also recognizes this eternal peace in which all things are accomplished. He then knows that he is not subject to any condition whatsoever, but is “lord of the Sabbath.”

Jesus ignored the Sabbath in Mark 2 23-28. Why? He ignored it because it is not a day but the point of enlightenment. He also says: “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.” Meaning that it has nothing to do with a religious day to be observed once a week. It’s an inward kingdom kind of thing, and it’s accessed during meditation.

Does nature take Sabbath? Never. Creation is happening all around us all of the time. It’s religious nonsense to think that it has anything to do with a day of the week.

Romans 14-5 King James Version
5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

There is no holy day, so do whatever you want to do.
Commandment #5

12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

Suppose your father and mother were Bonnie and Clyde, serial killers, rapists, abusers, pedophiles, the Far-Right; you know, really bad people. How would you feel about honoring them now? That’s how you know this is trying to tell you something much deeper than what is on the surface.

Matthew 12 47-49 King James Version
47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!

Jesus sure as hell wasn’t honoring his mother there, was he? Didn’t he read the ten commandments? Such is the fallacy of literalism.

Matthew 10-35 King James Version
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Just from those few passages, we can surely see that “father” and “mother” have to have deeper spiritual meanings, right?

Father, metaphysically, means “Divine Mind”.

John 14-6 King James Version
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Jesus is a part of you, and so is the “Father”. That whole passage is talking about the higher realms of consciousness within you.

Matthew 23-9 King James Version
9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

I always had a problem with Catholic Priests being called “Father”.

Jesus just flat out said that the word “father” means something else. Your real Father is in heaven, meaning the Divine Mind, within you. Heaven is God’s kingdom, isn’t it? Honor your Father who is in the kingdom of God. Where is the kingdom of God?

Luke 17-21 King James Version
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Doesn’t that make more sense now?

Mother, metaphysically, means “Spirit”. Any reference to the feminine can mean two things depending on if it’s a higher or lower reference to consciousness. Mother is a higher reference, so it’s “Spirit.” The lower being “emotions,” Delilah, Hagar, etc.

Galatians 4-26 King James Version
26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Jerusalem above is the spiritual city within you, which is also talking about the higher realms of consciousness.

Honor your mind, which is within you. Honor your spirit, which is within you. You honor both of them by elevating them in meditation, which again takes place within you.
Commandment #6

13 Thou shalt not kill.

Not kill?! Has God read the ten commandments? I think not, especially when you take the following passages into consideration.

Exodus 20-12 King James Version
12 He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.

Exodus 20-14 King James Version
14 But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.

Exodus 12-15 King James Version
15 And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.

Exodus 12-16 King James Version
16 And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

Exodus 12-17 King James Version
17 And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.

We could go on and on and on with reference after reference about all of God’s condoned killing in these texts, but that isn’t going to solve our problem that comes from using a literal interpretation. Is it talking about physical death or the death of the soul? Of course, it’s talking about the death of the soul. That’s why we find so many contradictions in the Bible. The literal just doesn’t mesh with spiritual truth.

Matthew 10-28 King James Version
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

To kill is to kill the soul out of a person.

Luke 11-52 King James Version
52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Lawyers are the ones well versed in Mosaic law or the law of Moses. In other words, what they are doing is killing their mind, killing their soul, because they are hindering them from entering within themselves. The lawyers believe that it’s not in line with Old Testament beliefs. They are not being taught the truth because the key has been taken away. They have been hindered.

Matthew 23-13 King James Version
13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

Scribes, ones who copy and write down the law; and Pharisees, meaning “dividers”, are telling people not to go within themselves, therefore denying them access to the kingdom.

This one part of scripture in the Book of Numbers has always fascinated me.

Numbers 31 17-18 King James Version
17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

On the surface, it’s disgusting and violent, every horrible thing you can imagine. But it doesn’t mean what it says. That’s why the Apostle Paul said to not be a minister of the letter, for the letter kills.

Who’s killing the women that are not virgins? Religious people. Who’s killing the little boys? Religious people. Who’s keeping the little virgins for themselves? Religious people.

Here is what it really means:

The little boys are the desires of the mind. Women that have known men are the desires of the emotions. Women who lay with men are that which is the emotions intercoursing with the flesh. You must kill out the desires of the mind and you must keep for yourself the emotional desires that have not intercoursed with the mind, which then become the desires of the spirit, the higher nature of the feminine aspect. It’s a psychological allegory not to be taken literally. See how much literalism of sacred texts suppresses women?
Commandment #7

14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

People got away with this in ancient times by having multiple wives, How convenient! If you are reading it literally, King Solomon, who never existed, had 700 wives and 300 concubines.

1 Kings 11 1-3 King James Version
11 But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites:
2 Of the nations concerning which the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.
3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

All this is referring to is the negative aspect of the number 7 and the number 3. The number 3 representing a major transformational event, and the number 7 symbolizes completion. So, Solomon has taken a turn to the lower aspect of the feminine and is overly infatuated with the emotions, “many strange women”.

Astrologically, the marriage is the planets Uranus (masculine) and Gaia (Earth/feminine) in the macrocosm. The microcosm being within you (as above so below). Father (Higher Mind/masculine) and Mother (Spirit/feminine).

Uranus takes on the position of the bridegroom, and is actually called the “Son of Heaven”. Uranus was married to Gaia, which is the macrocosm. The same thing that has to happen in your mind. Uranus and Gaia intercourse and mother earth will give birth to of these things born out of her intercourse with the bridegroom. But one of the children they had was a brat named Saturn, whom you know in the Bible as Satan, and Saturn took a sickle and castrated Uranus.

Now, Saturn has another name, which is Chronos, which is “time”, which is where we get “Father Time” from. And time is what takes from you, steals from you, destroys you unless you find a way to live and exist in the present moment. Then time loses its power over you, thus Satan loses his power over you. It’s all Greek mythology but very relevant if you know the hidden meaning and symbolism.

So, with Uranus being castrated, Gaia is now barren. We see this now on earth with all of the division, war and hate. But Uranus is returning now, and this is symbolized by the ushering in of the Age of Aquarius, which we have just begun to enter. It’s all happening in the sky right now but people haven’t the slightest idea of what’s happening in the stars above the way the ancient Greeks did. It’s like living in a house and not knowing what is going on upstairs.

Matthew 7 22-23 King James Version

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

That word “knew” or “know” comes from the Hebrew word “yada”, which when used in the Old Testament almost always means “intimate sexual knowledge”, a very deep emotional kind of sexual intimacy. Strong’s Concordance even supports that definition. The biblical translators had to come with an English word that would cover up this intimate sexual reference. Because we can’t talk about sex in the Bible or church, can we?

Matthew 1 24-25 King James Version
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.

The same Hebrew word “yada” is used here as well, just to show the sexual connection.

The reason Jesus is saying that he never “knew” you is that you haven’t truly become one. Kundalini is the orgasm from the merger of Spirit and Christ Consciousness. The seed is placed. When the Spirit and the Bridegroom (Jesus is the bridegroom) come together, the seed placed from kundalini transforms into the virgin birth within you. The child of promise has been conceived through the marriage of mind and spirit. All of this stuff is in reference to enlightenment from an eastern perspective.

Is this saying that Jesus wants to have sex with you? No, this is talking about a deep connection with the Higher Self; a very intimate, very personal, deep connection within yourself.

Duality exists in all things, including the mind. You have the carnal mind and the Divine Mind. We use the carnal mind daily to communicate with each other and to navigate and make sense of this physical reality. It’s necessary. It only becomes something negative when we use it exclusively for all of our communication, especially with whatever God is. You can only commune with that higher part of yourself by using the Divine Mind through meditation, that small still voice. If you are attempting to commune with the higher by using the lower, you are committing adultery. You see it all of the time in churches with people singing and swaying, hands raised in the air, etc., which all comes from the emotions, which are synonymous with the carnal mind, of which God is not a fan.

Romans 8-7 King James Version
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God

My personal beliefs are that happiness, joy, elation and the like equate to something beautiful. Those emotions are the zest of life. But as far as communing with whatever God is, religion has missed the mark by thinking that the same mind that is dwelling in the emotions can be in contact with the Divine. This is why the temple is built in silence, which is again meditation.

1 Kings 6 King James Version
And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.

When you intercourse with the emotions to achieve contact with the divine, you are committing adultery.

So yes, by all means, do not commit adultery. Do not stray from this sacred union of mind and spirit within yourself.
Commandment #8

15 Thou shalt not steal.

This one seems pretty straightforward on the surface, but since we are taught not to be ministers of the letter, and that these texts need to be spiritually discerned, let’s see if we can figure this one out on a consciousness and cosmic level.

The Bible is full of theft:

Exodus 12-35 KJV
35 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment

That word “borrowed” comes from the Hebrew word “shaal”, which means “demand”. Meaning, I’m taking it and I don’t care what you think about it. In other words blackmail. It sounds like stealing to me. And this instruction came from “God”.

Exodus 3-22 King James Version
22 But every woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.

There’s that word “borrow” again. But it’s clear that jewels are being stolen. There are many more references pertaining to stealing but let’s get into the meat of the meaning.

Stealing, as it is mentioned here, has nothing to do with materialism, which a surface interpretation. So, how can something be stolen from you in a spiritual sense?

Somebody has taken something from you that they had no business taking. The gifts within you have been stolen and hidden deep within you by the very people that say that they are trying to save your soul. They tell you not to meditate because you will open your mind to demons. But be sure to put your money in the basket, because the Bible says you have to give ten percent to be saved. Check out the link above to learn the origins and the true meaning of tithing.

The ones that interpreted the Bible have stolen from you, the lawyers. Jesus was not a fan of them at all.

Luke 11-52 King James Version
52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

These are the same people that are telling you not to meditate, of which Jesus references constantly in the Bible. It’s referenced in that passage and many, many more.

Pastors are also responsible for stealing from you, and God admonishes them for their misdeeds.

Jerimiah 23 1-2 King James Version
Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the Lord.
2 Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord.

I hope I am fulfilling my role here in Verse 4:
4 And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the Lord.

The dislike of religious leaders continues in Verses 11, 16, 21, 22, 25, 26 & 31:
11 For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the Lord.
16 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord.
21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
22 But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
25 I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.
26 How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;
31 Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the Lord, that use their tongues, and say, He saith.

The only true enemy you have is the carnal mind. That is what is truly stealing from you. So, in essence, you are stealing from yourself when the carnal mind has dominion over your life. You steal from yourself when you decide not to meditate. You steal from yourself when you think you are unworthy. You are powerful, and that power has been freely given to you.

Luke 10-19 King James Version
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

That passage is Jesus talking to his disciples, which are twelve aspects of you, your consciousness, not actual people. Remember, Jesus said that he couldn’t do anything in John 5-30. How can he give power if he can’t do anything?

30 I can of mine own self do nothing

What this is saying is that the Christ within you, the power within you, not from a physical Jesus, but within you, when you meditate, you touch the “hem of the garment” and touch the power of the divine, the I AM within you.

Twelve is perfection. You are perfect when you understand and experience your own divinity.

Matthew 6-22 King James Version
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

So, stop stealing from yourself, and for God’s sake stop letting the church and its lost followers steal from you anymore.
Commandment #9

16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

The key question here is: “Who is your neighbor?” Is it someone who lives next door to you? You are being a minister of the letter, which is exoteric, and we are looking for the esoteric meaning. We are not talking about social implications here, but spiritual ones. The word “neighbor” has a hidden meaning, just like all of the people and places in the Bible do. So what does it mean to “lie to your neighbor?”

Metaphysically speaking, the word “neighbor” means something that is very close to you in an inner sense, within you. An inner being that is a part of you. So you must not bear false witness, you must not lie or tell an untruth about your Higher Nature. Because that is what your neighbor is. The “Right Side” or “Right Hand” that is mentioned many times in the Bible is your neighbor. Spiritual wisdom is your neighbor, and it’s a sacred holy part of you. Your neighbor is meditation.

Has anyone ever born false witness against your neighbor? For me, they sure have. “Don’t meditate or you will open your mind to demons”. That is a lie or bearing false witness. If someone tells you that you will touch something evil in your mind by meditating, that’s bearing false witness against your neighbor.

People reading these texts literally are the problem with religion. They’ll bear false witness and only hurt themselves, the people around them, animals and the planet they are living on, all because of the misinterpretation of the Bible. We have to remedy this now or we may soon reach a point of no return with humanity and the planet. That’s why I do what I do.
Commandment #10

17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbour’s.

I really like the one that says “thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife”. Can you see now that this was written by men for men? Can a female covet her neighbor’s husband? It doesn’t say you can’t. I think we found a loophole, a chink in the armor!

To covet your neighbor’s wife means that you are living in the emotions. Female, when mentioned, either means “spirit” in the higher, and “emotion” in the lower. Coveting is “bad” so it’s the lower.

Your neighbor on the right side has no wife. Spirit is the bridegroom, you are the bride, you are the wife.

Matthew 9-15 King James Version
15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them?

The Christ is the bridegroom, the neighbor. You are his wife, the bride. The intercourse is between the Christ and you. The seed is planted in the virgin mind and becomes the child within, the child of promise within you. See my article in the link shown to understand what the child of promise is.

Isaiah 62-5 King James Version
5 For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

Revelation 21-2 King James Version
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

They are saying the same thing if you understand the symbology.

Why can’t you covet your neighbor’s house?

2 Corinthians 5-1 King James Version
5 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

You can’t covet your neighbor’s house because it’s nothingness, it’s invisible, it’s the right side, the right hand. Coveting your neighbor’s house is to live from the carnal mind.

The manservant is the carnal mind that serves our needs. To depend on it for everything is coveting the manservant.

The maidservant is our emotional nature. To covet it, we depend on the emotions to fulfill our needs.

The ox and the ass are the power of the lower nature. The power of the mind is the ox, and the stubborn nature of the mind is the ass. Relying on your strong stubborn nature to lead your life is coveting the ox and ass.

What happens to the ass when the Christ rides it?

Matthew 21 1-7 King James Version
21 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
7 And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

The Christ assumes dominion over the stubborn nature and rides and steers it into Jerusalem, the higher realms of consciousness within you.

Galatians 4-26 King James Version
26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Which just brings us back to honoring your father and mother again.

All of these commandments come into harmony when you go within yourself.

To wrap this one up, can these commandments be interpreted literally? Sure they can. But look at what you miss by doing that. We are told not to be a minister of the letter, or to interpret the Bible literally, correct? So why not understand them in the true sense, esoterically, within you? We get so much more than the surface meaning, we get the spiritual meaning, which is how they were meant to interpreted all along.

To finish, I don’t believe in religion.

Imagine a spring where water comes out of the ground. This is where those who were enlightened drank. This water flows downhill by different cities becoming contaminated by man. At the last city is where religion is and where the followers of religion drank.

Gain enough knowledge in a religion to be able to follow it upstream to the original spring. Then drink from the pure source that was there before the religion existed. Become a mystic. Set yourself on the path of the Gnostic.

  1. This article is outstanding & I want to thank you for writing it. All of the scripture broken down throughout is so empowering & necessary to our spiritual development.

There’s just a few areas of contempt seeping through this lesson when you make negative references toward a preacher man by pointing to his “political far right” status, as if to say that is the reason for the hurricane atrocity or his behavior.

At the same time that you teach the importance of using the spirit / divine mind, you resort to emotional / carnal commentary. It might have been okay had you also discussed the dangers or threats associated with “far left” thinking as well.

Since politics, lawyers & such are clearly not in the best interest of spiritual unfoldment – why lean in any direction at all where political affiliation is concerned?

    Again, thanks for this article.

It’s wonderful up until the manifestation of your bias. I’ll continue reading your articles while committing myself to the higher aspect of your efforts.

    1. I was talking to a friend the other day that writes about the same esoteric concepts that I do. He experienced the same painful breakup with religion that I did, and he allowed the pain and anger to infuse his writing just like I’ve done here. I’ve since become more tolerant and accepting of religious people and their beliefs without letting my bias seep through. But it’s still a challenge.

The reason I haven’t edited the article to make it more appealing to the masses is that I like seeing my evolution to a more developed and coherent style of writing. I mean, I bare my emotions in some of these articles because that’s how I was feeling at the time.

I may still go back eventually and soften my tone and bias, not because of negative feedback, but to smooth out the rough edges, those same rough edges that I’ve been working on in my own life need to reflected here as well.

Anyway, thank you for your observations, compliments, and taking the time to read the article. It means a lot.

I have many topics I’m working on in my spare time and intend to publish them in the near future.

      Take care…

  2. Excellent article. Very similar to what I have come to understand. However, I was looking for clarification on several points regarding the commandments and I feel many of the boxes got checked here. Thank you for writing this. Very helpful.
